    First Egg Countdown!!

    The second and third egg (from day 2 and 3) were not nearly as big as the first. They are more in line with what I expected. Dh keeps telling me each of the birds have laid an egg now - I keep saying one has had an egg each day.

    I was really surprised at the size too! They are Red Stars (hybrids), I bought them at 8 weeks old. My daughter says she is going to check again tomorrow as soon as she gets up.

    First Egg Countdown!!

    We are awaiting our first egg - anytime now!!!! They have made nests in their nest boxes, are very vocal lately, squat and shake when I bend down to pet them, super red waddles and comb, all the signs! This morning, they all went back into the coop and apparently tried their nest boxes again...
