Does anyone have Plymouth Barred Rock Bantams? I'm looking for some decent quality birds, not hatchery. I want to make more barreds and probably some Rhodebars. The winter was harsh and i lost all but 1 barred hen.
Paul Smith Ameraucana chicks about 4-5 weeks old. Black, wheaten, blue wheaten, blue wheaten splash. They were just shipped to me recently. I live in a high predator area and have lost a number of chickens recently. Today's attack was a heartbreaker.
Straight run, no guarentee on sex. First...
I saw this too. Dont want to be over-reactive, but it has me a bit anxious. Looking fwd to learning more as we go.
I haven't seen it anywhere else as well. I do a lot with chicken friends in NH so am interested to follow what will happen.
If your girls are up for it, would you please send me 12+ eggs for hatching. i love Brahmas and these birds are gorgeous!
Lmk your paypal, I will pm you as well.
Thank you.
Sad I missed all you guys. Our well pump broke so I spent the whole day NOT showered and watching the well guy fix the well pump. I was hoping to say hello and forage for new baby chicks.
...but after a couple shows, realized that she is very hard to keep clean, and, when fed corn and/or left out in thesun, her white is no longer white!
*sigh* i said to myself. :)
Finally,i settled on black birds, because this gives me a chance to learn what the bird should look like, and how...
Deerfield, NH is my second home.
Hatched four ameraucanas yesterday morning. Their parentage comes from Puglady! From a couple of the girls I got from her last year. I want more, and want more blue wheatens from Acechix. We got the most beautiful rooster from Acechix last year and he was...
...Ameraucana type birds, just not the right feather/leg/eye color. But I did it thinking I was supposed to make only a certain bird for the shows.
*sigh*
So anyway, here I am. Finding your thread is a God-send and marks an exciting passage for so many of us, I believe.
Yesterday morning...
Thank you.
I did manage to remove the turner. Three have pipped, and two of those three are rocking and peeping like mad. I moved them as quickly as i could, and watched the humidity rise back to where it was very quickly. They have been peeping and rocking all night so I am trusting that...
My eggs in the incubator are pipping because i forgot what day they were set. The eggs are still in the turner.
I set up an identical incubator for warmth and humidity and do not know if i should risk messing with the eggs in the turner
One chick hatched and is almost dry. Should i move it...
Whether intending to steal or "just making a point," that is NOT ok. I am astounded someone would think that's a good idea.
I'm just beyond words at how childish and malicious doing something like that is.
Unbelievable.
I have a bunch of EE's that are super sweet. They bounce out of their pen and look up at me waiting for...something. I haven't figured out what they want yet. They seem to just like being with me. (I mention them because I have both and can compare them.)
I had an incredible Ameraucana, a...
It's so hard to be patient for me. We had a serama chick hatch and it was a mottled, drab brownish color. He has since developed into a stunning wheaton! We are really excited. Type, first of course! But very happy to have a cute little wheaten cockerel.
Now... a question. Have there...
