...little pullet so my girls are so sad.
I also added corrid to the water in the main coop as well just in case.
Any other tips, tricks or advice?
*EDIT*
I just got confirmation from my husband that this chicken was sick like this the day BEFORE we introduced the new chicken (he just thought it...
Is save-a-chick good for that? Also, if it’s a slipped tendon will it heal or will he always have issues! My kids have named him (or her) Pepper the peg-legged pirate. Lol
I just hatched some chicks (my first time) and two of them had spraddle leg (I thought) so I did the straw and rubber band thing. Two of them were all better within 48 hours. This other one, however, seems to have more issues and im not sure what to do for it. For one, his spraddle leg doesn't...
Question: it’s been 24 hours since the first little guy was born. He and two others are all dry. Three more were born probably within the last hour or two (I just woke up) and they are still wet and floppy. Should I move the fluffy guys to the broader and leave the wet ones in the incubator...
I know it could take all day or more but this is my current set up. Im a photography editor so im just sitting at my computer all day editing. I set up my zero gravity lounge chair next to the incubator and am just waiting for some more to hatch :)
6.5 hours later....nothing has changed. the pip hasn't got any bigger and no other eggs (theres 26 in there and all fertilized as of day 10) I know it could take a while but is that normal?
WE'VE GOT A PIP!!!! Now hopefully theres no shrink wrapping or drowning because my incubator temp and humidity indicator is very wrong I think, and I dont fully trust my hydrometer. *cross fingers*
We’ve actually had FIVE stillborn babies. Awful. The last one was just recently. I told my husband “well, seems I can’t incubate humans OR chicks”. Lol. Laughter is def the best medicine. Thanks for your comment :)
No pips. I hear no chirping (never have). I’m so worried :( we just had a stillborn baby (human. Lol) and my girls have been so devestated and were SO excited for these chicks to hatch. If they all die...omg.
Long story short, we are hatching our first eggs. They are supposed to hatch today. Woke up and the power had gone out in the room they were in. So they were at about 75° for who knows how long. I think the humidity was fine but....I’m in tears. Are they likely all dead?
Uhg. I’m feeling frustrated. So I’m hatching my first eggs ever. I calibrated my incubator before I started and let it run for several days with a hydrometer in it. Everything stayed level and it all was fine so I began the process. On day 18 I checked and my humidity was at 63% and slowly...
Im so sad. This is our first time hatching our own eggs. it's day 18. temp and humidity levels have been perfect the whole time (I add water every now and again when humidity starts to decline, like im supposed to do.) Yesterday humidity was at 58% - I keep it between 50-60 - and I woke up this...
