I used simple strawberry baskets to make “chicken jails” (The plastic green ones they used to make).
If you don’t care if they get mixed after hatching, then an egg carton can work. Remove the top half (cover) and cut off the 12 bottom circles of each compartment for increased air circulation...
Of course my son's fav Spitz this year has the worst crest. However, she is obedient and lands on an arm when you call her. She also loves to cuddle and is constantly underfoot. I find this behavior unusual, but he's in love, so this odd one gets to stay.

My poor hen is ready for the ugliest chicken contest. She's a frizzled silkie (or "Sizzle") who's molting hard. On top of that, she's going broody too.
A lot of rain and flooding in our area. Trees ok. Only small branches on ground.

Our Dom pullet (Fizzy) won class champ (American Pullet & Best Standard Pullet). Our black Orp hen beat her and got Reserve Champion. (Our Orp was almost grand champ but a pretty, younger Welsummer hen won the final round.) Our bantams got several class champs and our bantam Wyandotte won...
