I am glad that you all gave me heads up on that one, Larry is in fact a rooster, he still has not crowed, but he has jumped on a few of my hens providing confirmation to my suspicions.
Thanks for the replies. His name is Larry, he came to us with Moe and Curly . He is really quiet and he's at the bottom of the pecking order, my girls don't let him eat sometimes.
I do not know why this chicken puzzles me so much, what do you think a late bloomer roo or a strange looking, really big pullet?
This bird is about 19 weeks old ( I have only had it 2 weeks and the person I got it from could not tell me anything about it).

Thanks, I was thinking that the tail feathers and it's size (compared to the others) were a bit roo like. Guess I will just wait it out. Do you think that the white ladies could be Tetra Tints?
I got these 3 chickens the other day to add to my flock, do you have any idea what they are (the previous owned did not know). Also, they are about 16 weeks, what are the chances that the red one is a roo? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
So Eggciting, we got our first egg yesterday and our second today!
(Link to my post and first eggs. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/691532/i-got-my-first-egg-today/10#post_9372278 )
The red is Winnie and the SS is Jewel
Here are all 3 of them, the BR is Rowdy.
Also we got a second egg today, I am pretty sure it is from a different girl because it is lighter in color than the first one.
Both eggs, on the left is the one from yesterday, and on the right the one...
Good to know, thanks for the info. My BR was hatched on 3/15, she was the only survivor from the 12 eggs I set. The other 2 were purchased from TSC around 2 weeks later, I believe they are are a few days older. So my guess bet is Winnie the sex Link. I don't even know if Jewel is in fact a SS, I...
Let's hope so! I am hoping my other 2 girls will start soon too! They were all gathered around like they were frightened by it, it was so fun to watch them "talking" about it.
I was thinking they both look like roos too. I have a 19 week old BR pullet that is just now getting a red comb and wattles, also they have really light colored legs, the pullets usually have darker legs.
She is 19 weeks, I don't have any recent pictures of her. I also have a red sex link and a Barred Rock both of which look a lot more mature. I will try to post a picture of her tomorrow. I am just so excited I did not expect any eggs for at least another week.
so excited that one of girls laid her first egg today. I am not sure which one did it (I think it was Jewel the speckled Sussex) but I am so excited! Just wanted to share with other chicken people like me. Here is a picture next to a store bought large white egg.
Very interesting, I will look into this. My little avatar picture on the side are of 2 of the birds in question when they were only days old. I guess the only thing I am sure of with them is that they are not silkies. Thank you for responding.
thank you all! My barred rock does have a red face not sure why I was kinda scared it was a cockerel. I am excited about my little flock and my kids love them. Winnie the red sex link is the friendliest chicken I have ever meet, she will sit on my lap and let me pet her, also the kids carry her...
