We have a Black Jersey Giant chick that is 3 days old, and has scratched its head, parts of its neck and right wing raw. It stops for a while then starts scratching again. It does this off and on, it still eats, and drinks fine and regularly. However, we have no idea why it is doing this...
Hey everyone!
So a few questions, we have two groups of birds that we have successfully integrated, one group is 16 weeks old the other is 13 weeks. The first group is 16 Delaware chickens and 6 black Australorp chickens. The younger group is 6 lavender guineas and 6 cinnamon queen chickens...
Hey everyone!
My chickens at night are all crowding around the pop door and sleeping there, instead of roosting up on the bars... They're about 7 weeks old right now, so I'm wondering if they are just too young and havent learned to get onto the roosting bars at night. But during the day...
That's right, 25 hens for 3 roos. As long as none of the queens are roos of course.... But it would be a little rough. They get along fine now, initially the two Delaware chicks had a sparring match, but otherwise no fighting from what I've seen.
Alright, we have 22 birds in there now, with 6 cinnamon queens at 2.5 weeks old. And 6 guineas to be added soon. So we may be losing a boy here because there may not be enough females around. Thank you for your help and any advice or thoughts are appreciated
Hey everyone! I've got three beautiful guys/gals that need a definite answer to whether they're male or female (because that tells me whether they're staying or not).
Two are Delaware chicks, and the other is a Black Australorp.

Yea, just removed the Cinnamons from the brooder into their own brooder, they zonked out cold and are still sleeping 2-3 hours later. The guineas were distressed for a good 30-40 minutes before they knocked out. I also find the Guineas are less excitable and flighty at night, is there a reason...
Hello everyone!
Alright, not gonna lie, first off these little buggers are a little annoying to deal with as they run away EVERYWHERE and really dont like to be held.... EVER!
So, heres a couple questions:
When if ever will they actually let me hold them without going...
Beautiful little lady yourself :), she or he doesnt seem to mind me at all, if anything this one comes over and checks me over a few times, and sits down in the area around me, or occasionally sits on my hand and falls asleep. She and one of my Black Australorps are my favorite, the BA is...

Guy or gal? Thoughts? She also doesnt have any pronounced plumage on her tail, and is mostly down still around 1.5 weeks old. I can get better pics if needed, but she/he is a bit bossy as well and seems to be near the higher end of the pecking order even though theyre smaller than the other...
Trying to figure out if this one is a guy or gal. Thoughts? He/she seems to be a dominant little critter in the flock. Anyone who gets in their spot they get nipped quickly and pushed out of their spot on the roost where you see them currently. Theyre actually one of the smaller ones in the...
Trying to figure out if I got a boy here. Almost all the other Delawares have their wing feathers in, and she's/he's still a ball of down. A bit bossy too.
Dare I say it?...... Clever girl....
Alright. So far just straight water changed as needed. Ive been looking into the organic ACV, but so far just water, their feed, lots of earthworms, crickets and any other unfortunate bug that happens to wander into the house or my path while i work on the...

I have a bird that has been having a loose stool, but i cant figure out who it is so for, how worried should i be? And what could i do to help them since i cant isolate the bird who is doing it.
