    I have 4 four week old babies. Mother is a splash BLRW, roo was a mutt. I am really hoping for at least one pullet out of the 4 as these are all out of my favorite hen. I know they are still young, but any thoughts? Just for fun, here is my favorite hen. The sweetest chicken ever...

    i thought saddle and hackle feathers don't usually show up this early? Are these definite saddle feathers?

    Here is another one of my mixed breed babies. Almost 9 weeks old. The comb and waddles are small and pink, not red, but the tail concerns me. Starting to look like a rooster tail. Sorry for the picture quality, only had my iPad handy. Thoughts? .

    Not sure what his breed, he is a mutt!! Lol he is very, very sweet though so I am happy to hear he is a roo! And I love that he is getting a new home vs my freezer!! :)

    I hatched out some eggs and don't need any roosters, but a co worker is actually wanting one, so I have the opportunity to rehome one this weekend. My chicks are only 5.5 weeks old, but she wants a young cockerel. Is it pretty safe to say this is a roo?
