Well these little chicks look nothing like they did when they were babies! We've discovered the white one, who is now black and red, is a Malay. The little bantam is a buff Japanese and the partridge colored chick... I have no idea. It has a strange call. Sounds more like a wild bird.

@citychx - HA HA Ur too funny! Yes they are only 3 weeks old.
@miniappleyard - I truly have no idea where they came from.
@pbjmaker - No on the feathered legs .
Thanks for looking though.
Ok. I ran out to the garage and snapped a couple of pics. These little ones are starting to get a little more distinguishable. The white chick is very tall and lanky, definitely not a bantam and dare I say.... UGLY! I keep calling him a he, although I truly have no clue. You can see skin...

Thanks for getting my back!
They are adorable. The little golden one is just a tiny little smidge of a thing but awfully feisty! They are adorable and our momma is a Whopper of a Buff. We affectionately call her Big Betty! We're not showing folks so I'm not up on the breeds. I'm just...
Thank you for responding with some suggestions! It's awesome to be able to have this as a resource for when you are stumped.
As for those accusing me of stealing... WOW! My friend handles all the DISPOSED eggs at the fair. Those owners who want to save their eggs have little signs on their...
So my sweet buff Orpington "Big Bonnie" went broody this summer and since my friend is the 4H Poultry Chair she "ran" the poultry barn at our county fair. She snagged me 5 eggs from pair cages and I stuck them under my sweet Bonnie. Two of the eggs were infertile and 3 were fertile. They...

Her crop returned to normal. I found out later that after I had given them a little scratch, so did each of my children! I think she ate a ton that morning!!
Thank you all! I am sure she has made a pig of herself. We don't call her Big Betty for nothin;). I love her and she loves to eat! Thank you for the info and I will keep a close eye on her, just in case!
Newbie here! I've been reading about various crop issues and of course now I'm looking at my Big Betty and wondering if she has an issue. She's not acting weird and to be quite honest I haven't noticed this until I let them out to free range today and thought she looked a lot "bulgier" than...
Thanks for being patient with a newbie. I had naively thought since my friend dropped off two Buffs and let them right in with my existing 4 that I could do the same. The big difference was tha my friend KNEW where the buffs came from, their health, the conditions they lived in and what their...
Thank you so much! This is great information! I love learning more about these animals and their behavior! I really appreciate all the detail and knowledge. Thanks for taking time to share with a newbie!!
Okay, I thought I got a great deal on these three chickens from Auction. They two are Brahma cross and one is a Red Sex Link. Last night the RSL was viciously attack one of my Wyandottes (whom I've had the longest)....of course my favorite! I was in the pen and I couldn't get the RSL to let...
Hi all! I am brand spankin new (2 weeks - I think) to keeping chickens. We're sticking with straight hens but I've got nine. I am in a suburb of Lansing. I can already see this is going to be a hobby I can get carried away with. We were only going to have 4 or 6. We have nine and my...
Thank you everyone! I'm glad I got them too! I was putting in some serious detective work on these new ladies. I am new to chicken keeping and am thoroughly enjoying my pretty girls. I am going to have to practice more restraint!
Is there a noticeable distinction to determine what is a...
