When you hosted a Chicken Olympics for all of your chickens to attend, featuring different things like running, finding each other, and lets not forget, the eating contest.
and btw, where we used to live, the rats were humungous, we called them Graveyard Rats, mostly common at graveyards. They were giant, and unlike most rats, who bite chick's neck's and leave them, they eat them all up.
Woah, Raccoons and dogs? I understand how people lose chickens to raccoons, because they are smart. (a clan of raccoons almost teared my friend's house down to live in it.) But Dogs? Most dogs I know, barely make it out of the house boundary... Predators? Most of my chickens have been lost to...
I would say Silkies, My silkies are very calm when held, and my pullet is the best, She falls asleep in my hand, and especially loves kids. She is fluffy, and children enjoy combing her like a barbie doll
My chickens were VERY skittish when they were young, but when they grew older, they started becoming quieter, (except for the cockerel, he starting bossing my pullet around) So generally, yes they are skittish when young.

Nice to hear that they are doing well though! Big flocks are hard to take care of. I have three chickens so they never get lonely but two chickens are good because they have companionship You could get an orpington hen but yeah it would take a while for the previous chickens to get used to the...
Never too early to start a chicken coop if you haven't made one already I remember when I got my first chickens, 3 adorible Silkie bantams. 2 buffs and one white. Hopefully you won't get 2 roos like I did.
Do you know the farm that you got them from him? Maybe there wasn't enough heat for them in a little box, did you make sure you knew enough information about the farm/hatchery? I hope that the little white chicken is doing fine
