**Im getting new Chicks!!!**

YAY!!! Im sooooo excited!! I get 3 new chicks tomorrow. They are breeds I have never had before, one of them is a BB red bantam, the other two are Blue Duckwing chicks! The others are at another home and will get them at the same time. I am absolutely about to die of exceitement!! LOL I havent had chicks in almost 3 years! Wish me luck on these babies!

Any suggestions or tips on how to make them even happier!?

Congratulations on your new chicks!

I put little roosts made out of small branches nailed to pieces of 2 x 4's in their brooder from day one. They love climbing on them and will learn to roost pretty quickly. After the first week or so, I fill a frisbee with sand and let them dust bathe. It is hysterical. Good luck and be sure to post pictures when they arrive!

Never too early to start a chicken coop if you haven't made one already

I remember when I got my first chickens, 3 adorible Silkie bantams. 2 buffs and one white. Hopefully you won't get 2 roos like I did.

Thanks everyone! Yes I am very excited! I wanted silkies but cant seem to find any I will get some eventually though I hope. Since these are Bantams I will probably make a new pen for them. Just to save the hassle of going trough the whole pecking order thing.
