Our Dorks came from MM, at this point they are still young and putting out small - small-medium eggshell white eggs. We have 8 hen's and get around 3-4 eggs per day. My girl's are beyond sweet and "our" roos are just not as niçe. We'll leave one and find home's for the boys or the freezer.

I an already okay with poopy eggs..I guess it is just part of it. Alas out 9 pullets /ladies are not ready to lay yet... I am sp proud, two are really coming in to them selves. We have 9 ladies and 6 boxes so I guess we are good. No crowding.

Lol...I think they got in the habbit because we did not have their roost in yet but we will move their "new roost" higher! Thanks for the tip. I don't like poopy eggs!!! Not getting any yet but they are still young.
This is a term I do not know. From what I have been able to find out it is some type of neutering for roosters? How do you do this and will it make the intact roosters accept and not try to fight the "fixed ones"?
My husband goes out in the morning and when he goes in the coop, he has 4-5 hen and Rooster's pop their head's out from one box :o)
too funny. In their yard they do have a higher order developing. And or 5 rooster's have their ladies that seem to favor one guy. So they do have little disputes...
We got 15 Dorking chicks and a sweet little bonus chick.? No clue what it is. But really cute.
In all 10 hen's and 5 cockerels giving away 4of the boy's. I had to buy 15 min order and I only wanted 10 hen's so we filled the order. Will see how the boys do in the coming months.
Lol...they really are too cute. My husband and I are enjoying them. They have changed already.we got a bonus exotic chick.have no clue but I call her Top knot due to her fuzzy brown "q" tip ball on her head and she has a fluffy collar!will post photos at a normal hour.:P Pretty little thing.
Our baby's arrived this morning! And all are doing well. And if they aren't just the cutest little things I just don't know what is.
They are sleeping, pooping, drinking,eating and peeping. So so far so good. ;)

should I brood the Chick's in the hen house or in with us in say the bathroom where they are safe and can be watched closely until they get bigger..or (!) Make this choice if we still have freezing cold weather?
