It looks like a tick to me....they start off very tiny (which is why most people become host, cause they don't notice them) and usually when they are coming out of the nymph stage (size of pencil point dot) is when they are most noticeable. They survive the cold by staying under debris such as...

Let me know what you are giving your poults and how much. My poults have come down with something similar to yours, except they sneeze and sound raspy, and the duramycin is not working because they won't drink it. 3 out of my 9 died, and the 6 left have been under quarantine for past few weeks...
I started off with 9 poults...they were all doing fine up until 2 weeks ago...a few started sneezing after a bad thunderstorm, then 3 passed away within next few days of getting "sick", I started giving the others duramycin in their drinking water, but they just seem to be not responding to it...
Here is my Ameracauna/Buff Brahma cross at 4 months old....notice the nice red comb and saddles he already has at this age (even at 3mos, he was sportin)
So all those viewers and no one wants to take a stab at it???? Come on fellow chicken lovers, help a gal out. I think I see at least 2 pullets in this crew, but would love to have that tiny bit of self assurance that someone else out there may agree. Just look at the last set of pics of 9...

Some of these pics may have same pic of a bird...they don't cooperate well lol...any ways, daddy to all of them is a standard light brahma....and the mommies are BSL's, one BJG/SLW cross, and one SLW/EE/Fav cross:

oh thank goodness....only ones I ever saw were golden in color, so I was scared she might be a he. I tried to take all the necessary shots of saddles, hackles and the comb. I just keep praying that she is a she, because around here, no one wants to sell their girls and this one we did from an...
Last time I posted it's pics, most votes came in as girl...I sure hope they are right. Pic heavy with photos of "it" with potential partner...fingers crossed lol
Well thanks to everyone who replied....as now I am not the only one sitting on the fence on this bird lol.... I will keep you all posted as it develops and we will see who had the right guess!!
wow, seems everyone is on either side of the fence with this bird....I will see if I can get a body shot, as they never like to cooperate. But thanks for everyone's input, deep down i am kind of hoping it is a boy, so I can breed them. Also, at what age do BR's start laying so I can mark the...
