I was able to sex our anconas by voice at about 3 weeks. the color and size are variable. The males didn't get their drake feathers until almost 4 months. -
Welsh Harlequin question...
I just want to add that picking them up and holding them helps...they usually get kind of irritated and can't hold back their quacks! We got our WH last week from holderreads. I am slightly irritated because out of 11 i think we only got 3 maybe 4 females. -

Sorry that you are having such a hard time. We had a similar situation last spring and I put 3 drakes on Craigs List (free to a good home) and I had no trouble getting rid of them (and I was picky!). -

Sexing Pekins??
I could sex mine at 3 weeks. the females have an obvious "quack" and the males are still kind of squeeky. It is especially obvious when I pick them up and they are irritated! Good luck! They won't get drake feathers until about 4 months or so..... -

Here are some updated photos of the babies...and our 2 year old Pekin, Mango. We ended up with 2 boys and 2 girls. Dos- week 8 - Male and the largest Pico- week 8 - female- the littlest -

Help! Ducklings are drooling!
Thanks Terrie. We are liming the feed because one duckling got so big, so fast, it is as if she has trouble walking. They are tons of space to get out of the heated area. We appreciate the responses. -
