Nothing crazy, 11 days in broody jail just finally cracked her. I hope she doesn't do that again, I felt bad locking her up for so long but dang, I keep reds for a reason & that's not it! -

Beautiful 60 something degrees out there. I have lost complete control of my spaghetti squash vines, at this point they are on their own & I guess I'll see what I have in the fall. :gigI can't even get to the flowers to pollinate anymore. My broody finally broke! :wee -

Now that is an interesting idea! I'm going to go make some ice blocks. That'll be good because this awful heat is supposed to break for tomorrow so they might have a chance of not melting instantly.- Sueby

I wated to do loofa but my season just isn't long enough. I don't have the patients to start them indoors and keep them alive long enough for them to go outside. -

She is in broody jail, she doesn't have access to the nest and hasn't laid an egg since going broody. Cold baths only piss her off, lol. I'm out of ideas and considering soup, except it's too hot for soup. :lau- Sueby

Yes. Not seeming to help. She's in a cage with a wire floor & a 2x3, off the ground with a fan on her. 8 days now. She's a maniac. And a RSL at that! Never had one go broody. I'm desperate to break her because the bear is in the neighborhood and while she's in the enclosed run and safe... -

There is no gentle with her, she is a raging maniac who would kill me if she could! When I dunk her I hold her in the water for like 5 mins kind of splashing her breast to wet the feathers. ...She's eating & drinking fine and she looks & feels good but I'm about to lose my mind. I have never had a chicken last this long, it's almost 100* outside and to top it all off, she's a RSL! I'm waiting for the report that 5 eggs a day is perfect, lol. We each eat 2 a day, every day. & then if I bake anything. I always hesitate to put an egg on my salad or snack on a devilied egg because I feel like we eat too many. 🤷♀️ -

I have 100% switched to superb lids too. Much better quality. I was just out pushing the dirt away from my onions, they aren't doing all that hot this year - I think it's been too wet. I've had quite a few rot. But I had to get some fertilizer in them so now they're even more wet. 😂... -

I vacuum up the squash bugs with a little hand held car vac. I also only grow bush squash & tie them up a garden pole and keep them well trimmed - otherwise they grow under cover. Since doing this I really don't have much of a bug problem. *knockonwood* -
