I agree only the welsummer looks like a hen.. The first one looks like a barred rock and the other two look like olive egger: black copper maran crossed with ameraucana.
AM wont have waddles, they are one of the hardest to tell, for me the two biggest clues on them is the leg size and saddle feathers. They tend to be slow developers and pullets don't even lay until around 9 months. If its a Easter Egger this may be a bit different, but even my EE lay way later...
I am still leaning toward a boy, I have also heard that tail feathers develop slower on roosters. I had a one I was so sure was a girl until it crowed :D sometimes its hard to tell. I have 2 year old barred rock hens and we got 2 cockerels with them as chicks, they are lighter than the pullets...
I am looking at the size of the legs and will go against the grain and say one cockerel (EE) two pullets. the EE has pointed saddle feathers, can not see these on AC but check there rounded on hens... feathers just in front of the tail
I have been away a while. The hatch went well, and we had 5 of 7 chicks come out alive! Of the five 2 could not stand, sit upright their necks were almost twisted and the flopped around like fish out of water. It was awful, I gave them 5 days used vitamins and a syringe to try and feed them...
Its been a while since I have been on here, I did end up treating with corrid and I have seen no suspicious poop. My flock has been molting (I thought this was a fall thing)... and my egg production is WAY down, I have done very good checks for mites and has treated the whole flock with elector...
Its a tough one, The little bit of coloring on the comb says one thing... there is a spot in the saddle feather area that looks to have more pointed feathers but the legs are thinner like pullet. I had a Olive Egger that stumped everyone until he crowed. First pick is Pea comb on my 3 YO...
I agree, letting her rest for a few days and keeping the wound clean. I think the chicken chick website has a mixture for pain meds using aspirin and water. However risk might outweigh the benefit right now. My guess is shock from hanging. I have a hen that liked to fly out of my run on days...
Chicks all look so much alike, I got "marans" and I am hoping that's what they are. I would agree to say Easter egger on yours. Only time will tell. I was trying to purchase a speckled Sussex (which I got) but she was trying to give me a black chick which was most likely a barred rock:confused...
Its one of those times again, I feel like all I do is meant with resistance. A challenge by the universe of my willingness to persevere, but things could be worse, the family members are all healthy. What more could one ask for?
I have been fighting a case (or 10) of fur mites in our meat...
A lot of people who sell them enhance the photo to make them more blue. I have Lavender AM (my pic) and just hatched more. Eggs can be very blue against certain backgrounds too. Either way they are amazingly beautiful eggs!! attached pic is not enhanced
Eggs will not develop until they have been in the incubator, letting them rest is a good idea. I did my first this year too, planned before this corona outbreak.. I am glad I did. We are hatching now
