It has turned black. I think ed I panicked for nothing. It was only my second incubation. I still have 5 in the bator that didn't hatch, here are the others.
I have eggs hatching tonight and I'm really worried about one of them. He hatched about 30 mins ago and his umbilical cord is still attached. He is pulling and squirming around trying to get it off. Now something seems to be protruding. I can't open the bator because none of the chicks are dry...
I have termites in my coop. We just built the coop on the back of the shed and the shed has termites. I had thought that the chickens would eat them, and they are, but I now realize this isn't a cure. I want to treat but don't want to hurt my chickens. Is it okay for me to spray outside the coop...
At what age should I more my chicks in with the big chickens and rooster? Also what should I do if one of my chucks is a rooster? I don't want them fighting.
Also I am wondering, at what age will chicks begin to use the roost. Mine are about 8 weeks old and dont get on the roost.
If it's been 24 hours since your last hatch is it safe to assume the others won't hatch without assistance? I feel like had I helped them out they might of had a chance. But then again if they weren't ready they would have died.
Okay, I opened the eggs. They were all fully developed, three of them had absorbed the all of the yolk, and 4 of them had not. It seems as though something had happened to them all at the same time. One time the humidity had gotten up to 82, and one time the temperature had gotten up to 104. I...
Okay, I first watched a video on YouTube so I would know what to look for. I then did the float/wiggle test on the remaining 7 eggs. They did not wiggle. I will open them up tomorrow but I do t know what to look for to find out why they didn't hatch.
Can you tell me how you guys can hold your chicks whit out them trying to get away. I've been holding mine since they were 24 hours old and they try to get away. They hide when I come in the room.
Still nothing. I'm sad that I might have done something that caused the last 7 chicks not to grow and hatch. At the same time, it's my first attempt at incubation. I am going to try again using a different incubator. I am happy that the 3 that did hatch are doing very well. Right now I don't...
Okay, I candles half of them. I didn't see any movements but I saw the blood vessels. Some of the air sacs were pretty big. I also didn't see any internal pips
You didn't come off as assertive. More helpful actually. I had already decided before lockdown that I was going to remove any dry chicks 24 hours after the first hatch. I will candle them tonight and see if there is any movement. Since they are so big I probably won't see them move but possibly...
