    Blood in the coop

None are molting right now. We are working on getting rid of the mice. We do have chicken wire, pavers and then construction sand on the floor of the coop. The problem is they got in the run and then the coop. I think we are going to put hardware cloth on the run floor and dump sand on top to...

    Blood in the coop

I went to let my girls out and there was blood in a few different spots in the coop. None of the girls had blood on them and I didn’t see any injuries. I have seen a couple of mice in the coop, do y’all think they could have gotten a hold of a mouse?

    Bantam egg laying machine?!

I only have 2 bantams, silver/black and gold/black. The silver is the one laying, I put a camera in the coop to make sure which one was laying. The gold doesn’t look or act like she is close to laying :hmm

    Bantam egg laying machine?!

I have a Sebright bantam that started laying a little over a week ago. She has laid every day for the past 7 days in a row, is this normal? This is my first time having bantams and none of my big girls have ever laid 7 days in a row.

    Hill Fluffy Butt Hut

We decided to use our wood shed because of its structure and placement on our property. Still have things we want to do to it but I think it’s turned out pretty great! The run has hardware cloth for skirt and on all side walls for protection from predators. We put chicken wire on the...

    Our new coop

We have 4 windows and are adding 2 more and we have 2 vents up high on each side :). I also leave that door open all the time while it’s warm weather and our coop and run are predator safe.:celebrate

    Our new coop

First picture is our old setup. A couple of during and the pretty much finished coop. We are adding 4 more windows (like the ones on front), 2 in the back and one on each side and a few other things to do. I LOVE it so far!
