I have a horrible time with getting my ducks to lay in the nesting box, and they often have extremely dirty eggs. Does anyone recommend a cleaning method that is best for people who give their eggs away to their neighbors and also doesn't want to spend a terrible amount of money to clean them...
Thank you.. because you worded a lot of my issues very well. The turn seems incomplete and quick, and then the housing for the eggs doesn't grip the eggs well enough IMO to turn them as much as I want it to in the channel it's in. I wish I could lock an egg in one channel or spot and have the...
This. And also, the eggs just do not rotate well in the incubator when you visualize them - which is pretty obvious since the opening is so perfectly clear. Maybe it's about how many or how the eggs are placed in there, what shapes or sizes need to placed there.. I'm not sure. After I didn't...
Mine, too.. unfortunately. Some of the best packaging I've ever had has had the worst fertility. I've had eggs arrive and I've thought wow I'm totally going to have the best candling/hatching ever.. and 0 will be fertile. It boggles my mind.
Then, I get some eggs in that have grass on them and...
Ok, well you're stating your truth as you know it then, just like we all are. Replacements are a optional one time occurrence and then it's OK I'm sorry sir/madame, but it's clearly not working here, you're going to need to source your eggs somewhere else. As others have stated, some people you...
I have had this happen about 3 or 4 times, except there wasn't a ONE, it was NONE. So yeah, people don't believe this crap, but it HAPPENS all of the time. So people need to stop being so dang hateful especially to the chicken keeping community.
That's very nice of you to ship one out for them, but what a butthole they've been asking for a refund. Wow. They absolutely have to pay for shipping. Every single ebayer who sends replacement eggs always has the person pay for shipping.
That is so incredibly rude. Have you ever bought eggs off of ebay? I have and believe me you don't want people like you posting stuff like this on forums like this. Unbelievable. I would never expect one of our own posting this stuff on here.
They look fertile. If you'd like to try incubating them, why not try it? Do you have all of the supplies you need to do that? A buff orpington chick can take a long time to become mature and then go broody - many many months, and that's if you get a hen, and if it wants to go broody. I say, just...
I feel like the eggs don't rotate well enough. I'd rather place them in my other incubators that sit with the top up and rotate back and forth. Yes, the temp maintains well, and I like that, but I don't like that the eggs just don't rotate well. I don't know what to do to make them rotate better.
Hello
I've been using my GQF Hovabator that has been doing excellently for the first 18 days and then moving the eggs to my r-Com MX50 for hatching since it's easiest to clean/sanitize and also easiest to maintain a set humidity. Here is my issue: I'm having a rising number of dead in shells...
Planted some more Georgia mayhaw trees, and tomorrow I hope that I can plant the 2 3-4 feet tall paw paw trees that I ordered off of ebay. I still have 10 thornless blackberry plants that I need to plant.
And, I still haven't planted my garden. I'm such a slacker.
I've had 3 cats, unknown until recently, killing my baby ducklings and baby chicks.. and this has been TERRIBLY expensive for me. Tonight, I just had two baby turkeys killed by one as well and this was inside a dog kennel that was outfitted with hardware cloth on the bottom and green poultry...
Ahhhh, gotcha. Well, since I'm planting it for them, then should be no problem. I'm hoping that by my planting the millet for them they will leave the other stuff alone! (Other than some insects, of course!) lol
