Thank you so much for your response. I know that she will die someday but I am not looking forward to that at all. She seems a bit better. I did the Vet RX and tylovet. A friend of mine swears by oil of oregano but I sort of pooh-poohed it. I will get some. I’m eating some good stuff online about it
My banty mix is very sick she is breathing very labored I gave her one cc of tylovet Mixed with water. Should I go to tractor supply and get Tylan 50 And if so how much should I give her. I am desperate she weighs about 2 1/4 pounds, I don’t know how old she is, I’m guessing around six or seven...
My ISA brown rescue hen, Lulu, seems to have sour crop. The crop is very squishy and liquidy, she's not eating but has been drinking water. She's been like this for two days. She doesn't seem to feel bad, she's pretty perky and doesn't look sick. Occasionally she'll shoot out some white stuff...
you get over it. I've only had one egg in six years that I had to throw away because it creeped me out so bad! and I posted a pic of it in this thread. even "soft shells" or "Jelly eggs" are fine. although I usually cut the "shell" with scissors!
I actually have NOT thrown any eggs away I just started the Tylan today! yay! another question. I have another girl who has been squeaking and wheezing and the vet said to give her Tribrissin. I think I'm pretty good at shoving a syringe down a chickens throat but I was in a hurry and I thought...

Johnn! you rock! My vet is very good and was reading the bottle. I'm wondering if maybe the withdrawal is if you're going to eat the chicken? GASP! Never! I can't even bring myself to eat chicken from the store anymore (I do eat their eggs though, just to clarify! ) Thank you so much!
About a month ago, I noticed my Silkie roo, Sidney, was lethargic and when I picked him up to check him over, saw that he seemed to have a very bad eye infection and his nares were running gross green runny stuff to beat the band . I tried to get an appt. with my chicken vet but she was going to...
this is all great info! I've done wheat grass before and they loved it but recently I planted more wheat grass in a plastic window box and put it on my deck. within 24 hours the dang squirrels had dug up and eaten every seed! the hardware cloth is a great idea. Also, I have two pens, one on...
one of my barred rocks, Mary Kate, who I noticed on Thursday seemed to be a little "off." I went to pick her up and she didn't protest too much where she usually freaks out and runs away. Her comb looks really red and the end of it looks purplish. I felt it and it felt cool, not warm like the...
