Hello we have a male red golden pheasant and a few days ago we found him sitting on our coop floor and his lungs sounded gargely and his eye was running with puss. We took him out of the coop and put him in isolation away from our other birds and a few days later it seems the gargling stopped...
No problem and thanks;) and he is actually very friendly, more than my black copper maran rooster. The father of my sumatra rooster was mean but he isn't:)
No problem!!:) and yes, they very much so sound like crows:) if you lived close to me I'd be more than happy to sell you some of their babies!! I believe I have a rooster and a hen right now, they are still a little young to tell.
I believe ours are around the same age. As long as they are fully feathered or at least they are almost mostly fully feathered they will be fine. It has stayed around 80 degrees when I let them out and as long as it is warm outside they should be fine &if they are mostly fully feathered at that...
Yes!!:) I have a pair and just hatched some babies! Sumatras are wonderful chickens. My sumatra hen is the most friendly hen I have. She lets you pick her up and pet her and she won't get upset at all. She also sounds like a crow! :) her feathers are black but she also has different shimmers of...
Wow! What a beautiful boy!! Mine is very protective of the free roaming hens he stays with. He and our black maran hen had some eggs that just hatched. I will definitely post some pictures of them and my sumatra rooster.
I just put mine in my upper race with my coop flock(my sumatra parents are in there too) and one morning they got through to the other side and they were doin just fine with each other. I also have a turkey in there as well and he didn't bother them one bit!:) maybe it just depends on the flock.
She will love that!:) also maybe bring her some treats- she will enjoy that! Do you know how long she has been sitting on the eggs? Are they due to hatch soon?
Mother does know best!:) and when mine was laying on her eggs I didn't bring food to her because I heard from other people that they do get up and find food and such, but I stopped listening to that because she literally stayed there 24/7 and did not get up what so ever and I gave in and brought...
Wow, maybe it was a coon or pawsum... Since they aren't ones to be out during the day maybe it was one that had something wrong with it. That's common. And sorry for that:( that's awful
