Thank you for your concern, but since I live in the city I am unable to keep her separate do to space. She has done this for years and no harm has come to her. I will let nature be nature unless she becomes ill then I will take her to the clinic I work at and give her the care I have given my...
I hear your misery's! I've and chickens for the last 5 years in a urban situation ( only can have 4). But from those 4 chickens the flies have always been out of control every year. You name it I've tried it, any fly control method, strips, fly traps , de, cleaning several times a day...
I think I'll just leave her broody. Thank you for the suggestion tho. She lives in a urban coop and when she is broody she is so quiet. She normally is loud as she can be in the summer and it might give my neighbors a break from her crazy outcries:)
My chicken has developed skin peeling slightly and redness down her breastbone. No feather are growing there. She is broody at this point . Don't see any mites . Sugestions?
I usually use DE around my coop, but I decided to try fly predators. How long do I have to wait before adding the predators to my coop so the DE doesn't kill them?
That is what I figured to. Idk, maybe I 'll put it in a different area. It is about 0 degrees here. It doesn't freeze when it's only 20 degrees. I don't get it.
I think mine just like the highest place to roost and that is the top Of their coop. Today I put some objects on top so they would hopefully avoid going on top and so far......all of them are in there coop. :lol:Yay!
Mine also suddenly have been doing that. Nothing has changed. I don t get it. Oh, I take it back, there is one thing that changed and that is the weather has gotten colder. Sure don t get it.
Are they eating or acting normal? This may be a silly question, but do you have grit & oyster shell available? If yes to all I bet it is due to the light change.
