Looks good, but from experience, open the holes up. Easiest way would be to make a couple ovals instead of just round holes. Depending on feed it will probably clog. Crumbles would probably be ok, but pellets don't dispense well from round holes, unless they are pretty good size.

That really sounds like a crock. Is it a county code issue, or a local subdivision issue, HOA??
I'm local, in Glen Burnie, and unfamilar with any county regulations that state NO. I did a little home work, and chickens were not stated in any county animal codes. Upon contact with animal...
Good job.
I've been in her boat, the regret passes.
Pet and predator is a fine line. But mine is clearly defined with a fence around my property. When your pet crosses it, it then becomes my predator problem to deal with.
Good way to handle the "problem", and good choice of weaponary also...
Looks good, good sized to.
My only suggestion is about the chicken wire. I'm not sure of your area but it won't keep anything out. Chicken wire will keep chickens in but it won't keep ANY predator out. And alot of critters can get thru that 5x5 ish cattle panel. I would suggest changing the...
It would be tough to "catch and keep driving" them back to "relocate". Like any predator, once caught they will get "trap smart", and you will probably NEVER catch them again, unless severly hungry.
The painted X kinda complicated the critter when released into anothers territory with literly a...
Got it here in MD. Just north of Annapolis, and south of Baltimore.
I'm at work, and it shook pretty good for couple seconds. Stuff fell of walls at house according to wife.
All well that I talk to, and no structural damage according to news.
Pray yall are well.
Guess it's time to get ready...
Thanks for the replies.
I need to get the hens out of there, and into the big coop with the other layers, then maybe the roos will settle down.
Ya'll think it will matter if the visual contact with the hens will be an issue? my runs are only bout 3 feet apart. I'm not working with a lot of...
Thank yall for the advice.
Little new at this. I've had layin hens for couple years now, and figured I would test out a homemade bator....It worked great for Roos...LOL.... Well I'll have 4 hens to mix with my other layers.

Morning.
I have 9 dominque roos in with 4 hens that were hatched out in April. So they are about 17 weeks old. And the Roos are really becoming ...... an issue.....
They are starting to fight pretty good among themself, last night I saw a bloody (very minor) comb. No one seems to be picking on...
Looks great. But I second the rain gutter. I also have a single pitched roof on my coop. And you would be amazed how much water it sheds even in a moderate rain. I guess cause it is all going in one direction. With that brick wall behind, and I'm assuming you are in Washington state...that area...
Depends on how quiet I need to be at the present time. Usually a Ruger single six (.22 cal revolver) with .22 long rifle. But when I need to be REALLY quiet it's .22 shorts out of a bolt action Marlin.
Flip the trap on the side and in my experience coon and possum will go to one end and hide...
I built all my own windows for my coop. I don't have access to any pics here at work but let me describe.
I work for a fabrication shop so we always have 1/2" double paned insulated glass laying around, (just like house windows).
I used two pieces 1/2" OSB board and cut to 1 1/2" bigger then...
I'm with you Pop...
I LOVE .22 shorts and my Ruger single six. When I REALLY need to be quiet it's the 10/22 with shorts, but like you said will not cycle action, so it becomes a single shot.....but only ever needed one. LOL...
PLEASE DON'T RELOCATE!!!!!!!!!!! at least not while it is still...
I am not in a rural setting. I'm located on bout quarter acre in a suburaban neighborhood. bout a dozen houses on my street, and I am bout 150 foot from a secondary interstate. So NO I am not in the sticks (yet). I have a 9 business strip stores within bout 200 yards from my front fence, one of...
AMEN!!! Get 'em. Good luck with the trapping and "relocating"...LOL...
I'm in the middle of a rat and possum issue here. 5 rats, and 2 possum in the last week and half.
Good luck.

REALLY???
Why put out traps, only to "rescue" the cute little rat? Why not just finish it off?
To each their own I guess.
I put out 6 rat sized snap traps, and three live traps (coon size) nightly. And this morning low and behold 2 rats, that I didn't perform CPR on in the snap traps, and...
That good news I-Have-Happy-Hens. Just keep with the good work. Its going to be a long road, I know mine is...LOL...couple days ago I tried to let her range with her old flock, other 4 two year olds, and 2 of the 4 went crazy and tried to get her pretty good. Had to break it up and seperate her...
On my mini-fridge bator, I used pill bottles. one high and one low for air flow. I still had to tape over bout half of a large pill bottle. They were bout 1 3/4" in diameter. and I cut that down to bout half that with tape.
Good luck.
