Elector PSP premise spray--not for lice?

Will just spraying the rear of the chicken get rid of the lice/mites? I thought you had to do the whole chicken - which is a pain. Somehow, chicken math struck us hard and we have over 100 chickens and guineas. I have to figure out how to treat for mites and lice before this outbreak gets too...

What are some good reputable hatcheries?

Good to hear about Country Hatchery. We live close enough to pick them up ourselves. Once our current batch(fist batch ever - pretty much experimental) we will try getting some from them!

Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

Quote: Good grief! RoPo, when you started this thread I had just found out I was pregnant. My baby is due in just 6 weeks and you still haven't had your day in court, much less have your horse back.... this is ridiculous! My hat is off to you for your patience. Robin, maybe you should...

    Cowpeas

I can't speak for anyone else, but our chickens loved them. We didn't feed a large quantity of them at any one time, and in all honesty, they were the leftovers from dinner. (yeah, we grew pea hay and always left a plot for ourselves). I wouldn't feed them dry - it might cause an impaction...

Wanna know what's embarassing? (I'm really good at telling tales on myself). I walked down to the henhouse and realized 1) it's WAY overdue for a good cleaning PEWWWW! and 2) Now I know why I'm not getting all that many eggs. I'm only getting about 5 eggs a day out of 18 chickens. Today, I...

Quote: Actually, DH made the dough - I just roll it out and sprinkle with cinnamon (the good, vietnamese stuff) and sugar - roll it up, slice it and bake it. Soon as they are done, I'll make the icing. The house is really smelling good!

Morning all! Got some homemade cinnamon rolls in the oven rising - they'll be ready to bake in another half-hour. Going to take them to my parent's place in Cushing to wish them a happy New Year. We didn't get to see them at Christmas for obvious reasons and didn't make it up there Friday...

Quote: Yes, Morgans make great driving horses too. My Aunt trains quite a few for driving, they do it so very beautifully. Morgans have a very beautiful gait to the trot and feel so smooth when riding, too. I know a while back we had a stockier one the older style Morgan, I don't know what...

I doubt seriously that the daughter could even come close to affording a Morgan. She'd be just as happy with one like what she had - minus the health problems. Ginger (the horse) was just a grade - probably quarter horse +. Daughter would probably love the Morgan, but good ones are pretty...

Quote: I'd heard that incandescent bulbs were going to be banned. My oldest daughter is going to have to start stockpiling them - she has to stay away from florescent lights. She has lupus and the UV light that comes off of the florescent lights does a number on her skin - you can actually...

Whew! Finally got caught up. It's been a busy last few days. Ended the old year on a very sad note. Youngest daughter's beloved horse suddenly died. Daughter was devastated, and sat for hours in the cold with the horse's head in her lap. Horse had been having some sort of problem ever...
