Much like the symptoms of the past 3 lost hens, lethargic, stopped eating, bluish comb, yellow discharge, we lost another hybrid this morning. Slapingitis seems to be taking out all of our RI X hybrids, but not affecting our Buff Orpingtons or Barred Rocks.
You mentioned her poops look eggy. Is there a yellow thick mucous looking discharge. Take and post as many pictures as you can of her poop. I'll alert some eggsperts. Is her tummy bloated between her legs back to her vent?

@coach723, I've noticed that there seems to be a definable difference in symptoms of chickens that die from salpingitis. One group has respiratory or eye issues. The other group does not. I wonder if any studies have been done as to the difference in bacteria/viruses found during a necropsy of...
Continue to post poop pics. The yellow discharge is not a good sign. Look for lash eggs, and check her belly below the vent for swelling. @Wyorp Rock @Eggcessive @coach723 Here are three experts that I've alerted.
Have you seen any lash eggs? Is her belly bloated below her vent? Take pictures of her poop constantly, and post regularly. I'll post another member, @coach723 , who along with @Wyorp Rock and @Eggcessive have seen this malady before.
Always take pics of her poop and post. What breed is she? What does she eat? Any changes in her comb? Does her abdomen look distended below the vent? Have you noticed any lash eggs?
