Teaching chickens to use new coop for laying eggs.

I will be adding an additional mini coop to my existing run and coop and am hoping to encourage my hens to lay in the new coop. I want to renovate their existing coop and take out their nesting boxes and just build more roost perches. How do I get the chickens to go into the new coop to lay eggs...

I tryed to let my broody hen hatch some eggs, first time for both of us and have allowed nature to run its course with the whole process with very little interference on my part except candling once and reaching in to get the other eggs I didn’t want her to sit on. 1 hatched very healthy but the...

Is it ok if my hen hatches her chicks in a high nesting box?

I am using my broody hen to hatch some eggs for the first time. I would like to leave it up to nature as much as possible and let her hatch the eggs where she is already located, in a nesting box. It is about 4 ft high and has a ramp that all the other chickens use as well to get up to the other...

First time hatch along, need advice

Well only reason is my nesting boxes are high up so I just thought it’d be unsafe for the new baby chicks once they’re hatched to be that high. So I was thinking of giving her a box down on the ground of the coop?.... I don’t know, that’s why I need some thoughts

Egg yolks are weird shapes what does it mean?

Egg yolks are weird shapes what does it mean?

They are only a little over a year old. The other issues are they are loosing their feathers on their backs. And they're not laying as often as they used to. I have 5 hens and was getting an average of 4-5 a day now it's 1-3

All chickens have bare back patchs, is this from Roo or molting?

2 of my hens have had these bare back patches for a few months, now all of them seem to have it. There are a lot of feathers in the coop and run. So I can't tell if this is damage from my Roo or if they are molting, as they do not have any other bald spots in any other areas. The other issue is...

I have several issues going on with my chickens right now that I'm not sure what's going on. Can...

How do I help my very scared chickens that were attacked?

They have their own food and water access in the coop. I have left the cage they grew up in inside with door opened enough appropriate for their size they can still run in and hide or eat in peace away from other chickens. I think I'll listen to your advice and wait a few weeks atleast and see...

How do I help my very scared chickens that were attacked?

I had some of my chickens killed the other night. My older 1 1/2 yr old chickens were unharmed but they're laying half of what they used to. The ones I'm more concerned about are about 20 weeks old. I had 8 but only have 2 left. They refuse to leave the coop and are hiding on the roost huddled...
