Sorry they are called "british range .. According to the quail mutant colours post ;-)
It's 1.26am here in the uk so I better not go out upsetting them it's lights off lol
Well they have been so noisy the males at night so I needed to get them in the freezer quick. But one today laid a egg lol
I have 2 Italian. Some pharaoh. And 2 unknowns.
Which would you say is female. .. I think you might call it a roux. Ones very dark one lighter ..
I will add pics...
I just did 8. And yes I had a few small and some massive .. I did take pics but not sure quail insides are allowed.
But now I know why they need more that one female each and why they have so much aggression. Too much testosterone lol
They are bigger than heart ;-)
Not sure I fancy tasting...
And the person who replied in 2013 thought the thread was old it will just keep living lol
I tried the waterer in the we call them planting trays. They emptied a whole 5litres of water in half hour. It was such a mess. Flooded shed
I've since found a trough works better but they drink water...
I like to keep mine in trios. ;-) so one hen gets a rest
I have run together 2 cocks and 6 hens. They seemed happy enough
One even went broody and hatched her own chicks.
Are they really lone birds in the wild. I would of thought due to there size safety in numbers
Ill do some research or...
Has anyone found that each colour lays different colour eggs?
I have at least 4 different colours in my tach from eBay. From olive green. To beige to dark brown
I've steered and hope to hatch all separately ;-)
It will bE so easy if my silvers lay one colour the pale ones
