i got offered a trio of young Eikenburgers a few weeks back in trade for a trio chabos (which im over run with) so gladly accepted the trade..only problem was the guy lived the other side of the country. But after a bit of sorting out we arranged to get them delivered and the chabos picked up, and anyhow..... they just arrived!!!

oh my they are so darn sweet...but noisy!!! it's still a bit dark and im letting them chill after their long journey but i promise to get some pics up in the nxt few hours

it is a relativly new chicken breed (first bred in 1977) from Holland
it is i believe a 'relative' of the silver sebright, or was originally bred from crossing a silver sebright with something...they have a rosecomb, brown/orange eyes and blue legs/feet, with a short back and high standing tail.

and they make just the cutest noise! i dont know if its because mine are still young or not, but its not like a normal chicken noise!

finally got some photos, please excuse the cage they are in, i wanted them in quarantine but didnt have anywhere suitable for their size, so they are in my budgies aviary

well the legs seem to be finally getting a little more blue coloured....but they are still so so noisey....quarantine may have to be cut short, these have to get out of the house!

Congrats on acquiring some rare chickens!

They look like they'll be very good-lookin' when they're older.

Names....hm....it would help to know just what kind of sounds they make. If one sounds deep and raspy, and if it's the male, you can call it Hitler

But, in all honesty, I don't really know. Maybe try names from your favorite films? We did that with some of our chickens.

Thanks for sharing the photographs. We don't get to see many photos of this breeds. Those are pretty chickens. Those beaks ... so white. Are the eyes black or red? Congratulations!
