My 5 week old chick is ill. Yesterday it slept a lot, today barely moving and it has this huge bubble that extends under the skin from the crop area to around the right front wing. In general the chick looks fat and bloated. Its looking pretty down and I'm pretty sure it's going to die so am...
Nurse chiming in here. Many children have immature bladders until they are older. Many until age 12. It doesn't mean she needs medication although it could be helpful but maybe not.
I also homeschool. It's a choice I made for our family for a multitude of reasons. Some choose public school...
Also homeschooling 3 kids here in Rhode Island. Ages 12, 9, and 5. You don't know how to teach every subject. Help can be found on the internet, other homeschoolers, teachers manuals, and text books.
I have no difficulty sitting down with my saying, "Gee-it's been a long time since I've done...
You might want to try unitarian universalism which honors all religions and was founded on christian and jewish values. I wouldn't be anywhere else.

We ordered 8 chicks from them last year. 2 were silkies, all were supposed to be hens but one silkie was a rooster. We lost one chicken at about 8 weeks from cause unknown. And our female silkie ended up with that twisted neck thing-we culled it.
MPC they aren't show quality chickens by any...
We homeschool all 3 of our kids for a variety of reasons. Public schools -it's just not the right choice for our family. My son had some learning disabilities, was failing etc despite a very high IQ
I have to say that I'm appalled that kids "behavior" is now color coded and this is something...

Wow-I've never butchered yet. We have all hens and one roo.

I don't post pictures. I find it way to difficult on this site. It always says my pictures are not in jpeg, gif format no matter what I do. I've never been able to get an avatar-no matter what I do it says its too big or not jpeg. Photobucket is a pain. Log into my account, make a new album or...
OMG-we went out to the coop yesterday and found this huge green egg. :yaYup-double yolker. I feel bad for the poor chicken that laid this. It was our first double yolker.
Consequently the first 3 eggs that this chicken laid were pale pink-then she started laying green-blue eggs. Weird. I...

I also have the same bowl for my mature hens, raised up on bricks-it helps but I still need to change the water every other day. I also have a large rock in the middle so no one goes for a dip in the pool.
The bowl works great. Love it.

My SLW's are Rum and Raisin, my white silkie rooster is named Cotton. The Two EE's are Chipmunk and Spice and the BO is named Rosie. We had lots of fun naming them with the kids.
