    Is it possible to hatch eggs without an incubator? I bought some hens from a lady with roosters and she informed me that the eggs would remain "fertile" for a month or so. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you !

    Sorry about that. I think i probably shouldn't have said "air tight" they are only buckets from the hardware store with "snap on" lids. They are not really air tight. Sorry for the confusion

    Blooie where are you from? Im just wandering because I'd like to know how hot it gets in the summer there. I'm from Georgia and it gets pretty hot here. But I'd like to keep my chickens on these buckets

    Very true about the bread crumbs. I gwed my chickens good but sometimes i take a couple of slices of bread out to them and they act like they havent ate in a month

    I have my chickens on a nipple waterer that it fixed to the bottom of an air tight 2 gallon bucket.     I got these hens from someone local. Any guesses on what they are. Even the lady i got them from wasn't 100% on the breed. I have a guess though.

    Ahhh, i see. As far as i know there healthy birds. And there pretty big to. And your right. I'm just looking for eggs. They haven't layed any for me yet but im sure they will. If not it will be freezer time. Thank y'all for the comments
