Set my egg this morning, this is my second batch in 2 months but I got people calling me to buy them. First batch turned out really nice hoping for the same with this batch, maybe I will even get to keep some of this one!! Good luck to all who are getting ready for hatching.
Has anyone had twins successfully? I have a large egg that I see two embryos and I was just wondering if both will survive! Got two weeks left before expected hatching.
Candy442: the only reason why I was asking about if chicks would have the same behavior problem is because he is such a beautiful bird that I wanted to breed him. But I won't if it does
Yes, I have taken him out of the main coup and placed him in the baby side for now, it just really threw me for a loop. I didn't know if anyone else ever had a similar issue kinda hoping it is just because he is so young.
I have a rooster who is 5 months old, he is already breeding with the hens and he is very handsome! My problem is that he has been picking on certain hens, yesterday he banshed a hen which is one year old to the coup. I found her wet dirty with her head stuck in a corner and most of her...
A pic of how bloated she is
I have never had a baby do this, however it may be more worthy to say that she is behind in growth then the others a 7 weeks she is very short legged and just her overall appearance is different than the other five bought at the same time. They all have feathered...
She pooped last night but is was kinda white looking also from her vent there was a long white stuff, could this be a yeast infection?
She is so bloated that she walks like a little penguin instead of a chick
Her croup feels small she is not eating very much but she does like the molasses...
Sorry about not replying earlier but my internet went down. she was in the coop with the other babies are, no heat ( I am in Fl. so it is pretty warm), I mixed the molasses in with her baby food that I mixed with warm water to hopefully get her to drink more. Has anyone given an enema to a...
I have a 6+ weeks old and I was watching her and she went to poo and nothing came out when I caught her she packed with dried poo so I cleaned her off really well but she felt like she was really bloated, she is eating and drinking fine and does not act sick. Does any one think that the...
I start mine giving mostly veggies when they are just days old, by the time they are 8 to 9 weeks old they are used to eating different items and usually they will eat happily whatever I put down for them.
Yesterday I went into the feed store for food and walked out with three babies, not that I needed them just I hatched out 9 in January, my husband was with me I might have gotten a couple more but he said I could only have two so I of course choose three, thinking of sneaking back today!!
My girls have recently decided to lay in a corner where my hay is and I couldn't figure out why and your article just told me what I am doing wrong. I am going to do some upgrades to the boxes so I can get the girls to move back. Thanks for the great article. Your article has a lot of good...
The end tally on my hatch of Jan 1 & 2 is a total of 18, 9 bantam and 9 EE/Maran Clive egger. I set 25 eggs and ended up with almost a 70% hatch rate, I think it isn't bad for a second hatch, my first hatch was barely 50%! The EE crosses were shipped eggs. I am really happy with the hatch and...
Well through the night 5 bantams hatched and there are 2 that are zipping now, and there are three external pips and two internal pips. I set these eggs on Tuesday the 13th so they really should have hatched tomorrow. I guess they just were so excited to meet the world that they came early:weee
