Actually I found the single one on the ground and then these 6 were bunched up together inside the coop next to the raised nest boxes but I will try that out putting an egg in the box. Thanks
Guys I feel like a fool! How do I let chickens play me so badly. I just found 6 perfect eggs.. hidden, under bedding. So happy I have layers now!!! :celebrate
So I’m turning 30 in January, I wanted to visit a state I’ve never been to and I always wanted to go to Florida. The beaches and wildlife pulled me into it. I’m in Louisiana and I plan on driving down. I’m not sure if I wanna go to destin or Panama or if there’s any other fun city in the 5-6...
I took some advise and went to check them.. My 2 RIR and 1 Buff has full combs and there a slightly redish-pink color. While 1 hasn't grew much of a comb yet. And someone mentioned earlier about them laying down when I approach and well I have 1 doing that. They keep going inside the coop but...

(This might have been asked before and if so my bad I just couldn't find it on the search page.)
I have 4 hens.. 2 Buff orpingtons & 2 RIR. They are 5 months old specifically 26 weeks. I haven't received a single egg from them. They have proper space and they free range about 3-4 days a week...

Awesome! I'm jealous lol I'm still waiting for my first egg, It's been like 5 months! or 23 Weeks as listed on the calendar. I'm still checking everyday raising chickens was a way better experience then I thought it would be. Already have plans of expanding.
So yesterday after noon a guy sees me outside and he yelled "Hey! Are you the guy with the swinging hens!?" I said.. what? I have hens yes. He says well your neighbor told me that you chickens like to swing themselves and that's something i'd like to see. He's like i've owned chickens for...
Guys quick question. How important is grit intake at this age? 5-6 weeks. The chicks are spending all day outdoors in the run now. They have a log, plants, wood chips, dirt and I made them a nice dust bath they spent alot of time in. I brought them some chick grit and I used to give it to them...
