I have a hen that's going through the same exact thing. She's not walking, having yellow in her poop, and just seems really depressed/sleeping constantly. Her combs are also still a bright healthy red. I'm probably going to euthanize her tomorrow but if you get any word on what was wrong with...
She weighs about 1.6 pounds.
She weights 1.6 pounds and I found what looks like scaly leg mites on my other chickens but they can walk just fine. Should I treat all of them for it?
Thanks for answering. I decided to pull the bumblefoot out yesterday and she taking about 80mg of amoxicillin twice daily. I have also started giving her vitamin b in her water. She's starting to become more vocal and move around a lot more. She still can't walk but she keeps trying to stand up...
She's about a year old and lays eggs frequently. When I try holding her up she tries to stand but her legs seem to give out. She uses her wings to balance herself when sitting and both of her feet are forward infront of her. I do have a big rooster that's about twice her size but I couldn't see...
She can't walk or stand up anymore. She seems to drink and eat just fine. I put a rag around her to support her since without it she'll just support herself with a wing. I don't know if it really is leg mites since I've never heard of a chicken not being able to walk at all.
I have a pretty lethargic chick that's about 7 days old. His crop feels empty and I'm unsure of where to put the feeding tube. I know the passage way to the lungs is lined up with the ending of the tounge but I have no idea where the esophagus is.
He's ok. I was just very worried since it's been over 30 days since the duck mother first sat on the eggs. When I pulled some of the membrane there was no bleeding surprisingly. I wouldn't have gone further if there was bleeding. I left him in his egg and coated him in a little amount of neosporin.
Hello again😩. One of my female ducks abandoned her eggs when they were about a couple weeks away from hatching so I decided to put them in an incubator with my chicken eggs. Only 1 of the 6 survived and should be hatching very soon but the duckling hasn't made a sound at all. So I decided to...
I'm not completely sure but maybe she might have a heat stroke? Is it hot where you're at? Because I live in AZ and one of my ducks went through a similar thing but without the seizures.
She sounds like she might of gotten some water in her lungs. Keep an eye on her and give her some treats that have vitamin c like broccoli and kale to prevent a respitory infection.
Here's some images of his wing I also have some concerns for his feet since it looks all cut up. He's also at the bottom of the pecking order so he was always picked on and chased:(
I think it might just be an umbilical cord or dried yolk? I had a similar thing happen to one of my ducklings and it went away on its own a few days later
Hello, I have a duck that has been attacked by something a few days ago on his wing and it seems to be rotting. It smells and I recently brought him inside today and cleaned it with iodine and put neosporin on it. Does anyone know how I could fix it? I can also see some of his bone(or maybe it...
