    Oh, ok. My little flock ranges in age from 16 weeks to 19 weeks. Layer, I assume is fine for all? The lady at the feed store says not to switch until 24 to 28 weeks!

    We just put one in. We read on here 24 inches. My chickens are 5 weeks old so I put a cinder block under the nipples so they can reach it for now!

    I use a qtip with warm water to get it off. Then I dab it with olive oil so it doesn't stick as much the next time. I did this for about a week and she cleared up! Good luck;)

    Will the egg start moving before the first pip?

    I would wait it out. I have learned that a wiggling egg is the chick getting in position to hatch. I had wiggling eggs for 5 days before the hatch! Some days they were more wiggly than others!
