    Thank you for the replies. I ordered the chicks from McMurray (a hassle getting them across the border) in May. They were all supposed to be hens but I got several roosters. :( If he is a EE/Maran cross I wonder what colour eggs his off spring would produce?

    Blind Chicken?

    I've lost about 5 chickens in the last two weeks. When I find them there is no marks or wounds of any kind; just a dead chicken. Today I found this 3 year old hen completely blind. She seems to be healthy other wise. Could this be Merrick's disease? Thanks for your help.
