First time using an incubator
I have a chick I think maybe an Plymouth
He hatched fine in the incubator, I took him out and noticed he has blood over him and a lot of bloody mess coming from the umbilical area.
I put him back in the incubator and left him for 24 hrs. Well it is drier now but...
Hi Was wondering if the plymouth rocks go broody at all
I have a trio of them and was hoping maybe one of the hens may go broody if I leave the eggs in the nest box

If they dont want your help they probably wont accept advice
Can you brood them till an exceptable age for them to be responsible
A bandaide will help and making sure they have the right nourishment

If it is removed could he still swallow
Im from Australia and if you know anything about our vet prices here it would be close to $500 onwards for an operation like that as not many vets would preform it
He still crows and now bubbly saliva is around his mouth
I think that maybe the infection...
I have searched the net for information I have also tried looking in the archives but to no avail
Has anyone either experienced this or knows of anyone who Has??

I dont know about the quality of giving buttermilk to chickens but maybe you can try to add quick oats to the milk until it is porridge consistency
They may eat it then
My pekin 2year old rooster attacked my 1 year old plymouth through the fence
The pekin is in bad way
I have given him a broad spectrum antibiotic as his face is blackened and he had a start of an infection
He has not eaten in a couple of days so I force feed him mince
I looked down his throat...
Plymouths are not a common breed in the nsw australia so getting a adult hen is near impossible.
I have chicks that is it
I will seperate him and only bring him out in the morning as he is massive

Thanks for responses I forgot about water I know Im silly I was so scared she was starving and never thought dehydration is just as important.

The pullet also has a strong bad smell about her.
Upon inspection I found a large gash that is hard and a hole with hard edges.
I applied some antiseptic powder and force feed her...
