If anyone like me is coming late to this thread, I thought this one might be useful. It talks about the silicate vs lime methods and the success of them. Thank you for this great thread to the OP and other commenters and the final result report...

Hi Everyone,
You are all busy as always here on the AZ thread. Almost 3000 pages! Wow.
I have been absent for awhile, a loooong while. I am hoping you won't hold that against me.
We have a broody hen in Mesa that we would like to give some fertile eggs to. We were thinking of giving...
Dumb question time. We are still having high's in the triple digits here in Phoenix. Is it starting to get cold enough in your areas to warrant cayenne? Yeah, it must be. I should look at a weather map. Thank you to all of you who shared your experiences with the Cayenne, I am anxious to try...

I am going with Mohonri on racoons...just glad the are not in the center of the city where I am.

Nessa: Wow. Wow. Your leaving. Still, I am most happy for you. You sound very peaceful. My move from UT to AZ felt that way. It was hard to leave, but I knew it was right. I still do....and...
I am pretty sure these 3 are the purebred boys from my collection of EE eggs that had a BWA father. But, just to be certain, before they are sent on their way, would like expert confirmation - let me know if I need to go back for more pictures... Hopefully I have at least one picture of each of...
Did you miss me? I hope you will let me come back . . .
It is time to think about parting with some roo's, so I want to get a final word on their gender before I start sending them on their way...
Here is my first post... supposed to be a red sex link hen...
The breeder sold this chicken to us as a 1 day old fluff ball red sex link hen to be. At the time we also got some rooster sex-links to keep it company growing up. (We were concerned about how the momma hen would take to them.) This red, we call Cinnamon seemed to have the same aggressive...
Cute birds! I too have some little ones I am trying to determine gender on. I may have to study the feather thing. What kind of bird is the Momma hen that is pictured???
