Thank you! I only checked in the afternoon (somewhat empty) and then at night (full) but couldn't this morning, so I will keep monitoring and check tonight and tomorrow again. I did notice today that there was very little poop under her roosting spot
So, I know they can't exactly vomit, just trying to be descriptive of the weird movement my 15 month old hen is making - I am attaching a video here of a few instances for you to see. It has been 2 days now. Yesterday, I grabbed her and felt her crop - it was wide/spread out, somewhat empty and...
Thank you eggcessive (also, great username!)
Gonna go out and try to find Terramycin, but if not, I have plain neosporin laying around (the closest tractor supply is pretty far from me)
Ok, so here is what I am going with - let me know if I am making any mistakes:
1) Hold head down, pull lower...
Hey Wyorp Rock, thank you so much for your response - I am waiting until tonight to grab her and do a more thorough check including inside the beak - if I see anything suspicious, I will post further photos here. When I first got back from evacuation, there was some ammonia smell from the the...
Hey Everyone, I have a 1 yr old speckled sussex whose eyes have looked strange for a few days now... they are always half closed, maybe a little swollen. She was acting much like her other 3 flockmates, pecking/scratching/preening/laying and pooping normally, as far as I can tell - but it seems...

So first, I have indeed read several threads before posting, but still had some doubts as nothing seemed to describe my specific situation. I mostly see posts about Favus in combs/wattles. Also, first time flock owner and wanting confirmation...
I have included some really close up photos, and...
I believe rent-a-coop is just the brand name of the company that sells a bunch of chicken stuff, feeders, waterers etc. Not literally a rental service. All I ever got from them was some water nipples, those were fine, but apparently a lot of this other stuff is not according to @skygoddess11
same here in terms of weather (Louisiana), which was hard for as I learmed because a lot of the advice I read seems to assume cold weather. Imn any case, I will be trying the bike inner tube, I will report back here with some photos once I do
According to the scientific study posted on this thread, you are pretty much on the mark for the best roost (in terms of pressure on foot pads and keel bones, which is what the study investigated). I attached a PDF of it in the last post
