    lost nine last year to a coyote, and 3 more this year to raccoon. Definitely raccoon. And I agree with aimless farmer, get rid of them, my husband and his gun will do the job. Raccoons are awful here.

    I wish you luck! My son and husband would have shot them dead, but they are so sneaky.....I will tell you this bait is the best, we got two with it, and they die almost instantly, within a foot of the container holding it. Sorry about your chickens, it is so heartbreaking when that happens...

    Thank you both for your replies, do you think we should cover the whole run? But then I worry about it getting muddy.......they do free range often when we are out there, not all day because of predator problems.

We let them free range for about an hour or two each night and when I say night I mean at about five and then we put them back in the run and lock them in the coop right at dark or they go...
