Awesome, thanks!
I thought it was hilarious but I didn't know if it indicated I might have got a Roo or two. Which my husband would love because we can't have them in our city and he has an issue with the number of hens I'm going to have and my loose interpretation of city ordinance.
Chicken...
So it takes a bit for them to do it in the clip, but they are rushing each other and chest bumping like you would see in a cock fight.
They are all supposed to be females.
Ok... video will not load.
It's probably 1/100 sq feet in the lot. Like if your lot was 13,000 sq feet you could have 130.
Maybe it's available yard space they are counting.
My city allow 8/lot. I'm in 2 lots.
I've only ordered twice, both times from Meyers. I will say that the Blue Ameraucana's I got were not "blue", but will end up being "Splash" or something. It's fine, I'm going for egg color and I am not overly upset about it not being standard, but for $20 a chick...
Their customer service has...
Here are some pics of my thrown together play pens in the run. I reused the panels I had after we moved my coop to our new house.
I observed mama who had one chick with my others and she was only aggressive toward the yellow ones. Not the ones that looked like her chick.
I separated them, so...
Sorry- It's long....
So two weeks ago I got my order of chicks (9), and I had a very broody hen. I wanted to try to get her to adopt, and was introducing a few at a time. I gave her 2 and one died because (I'm guessing) she didn't show it where the water was. So I delayed a day introducing...
My girls named two of ours today.
10yo "popcorn"
2yo "Bird"
Lol. Works for me. If they make it to a laying age I will worry about it. I used to name them right away and then get upset when they didn't make it.
I got my babies in and not to sound crazy but I didn't expect them to be yellow. When I googled images they were primarily grey.
Has anyone else received yellow chicks and still have them turn out to be grey as adults?
I'm typing blind here, because the text window is not moving so I...
I'm a bit of a control freak, but sometimes I back off... a little. Haha.
I let Charlie name most of my last flock. So we had "Soccer", "Football", "Spot", "Snowflake" etc. Lol. Same with the new flock... "Star, Moon, Elsa and Anna" We had a beautiful EE named Oreo, but my old lab decided he...
Awesome!
Charlie informed me and my husband that "Mom ALWAYS gets to pick..." Yeah, 'cause I pick awesome names..." Lol. I'm just glad it's not "Socks" or "Blue" or something. Haha.
We did almost agree on Roger though, but hubs vetoed that. Charlie has a love of Captain America, and Steve...
Yes. They were pretty awesome. He was a "free to a good home" pup, but they were very adamant about returning him if he didn't work out. Said their dogs are family- which bodes well in my opinion.
My vote for names was Tiberius- but I'm a huge Trekkie. Lol. I was voted down. I'm happy with...
Named him "Ender". Hubs and I are huge sci-fi fans, and our daughter agreed because of Endermen and Enderdragons in Minecraft.
Waiting at the vet to get his first shots.

He needs to be covered up and have music playing (prefers Celtic Women) to fall asleep.
So last March our German Shepard of 13 years passed. He was our first baby, and my daughters best friend.
I didn't want to get a puppy as a knee jerk reaction to his loss. I told her that "maybe in a year" we would start thinking about it.
Two days ago I came across a litter advertised on...
