    Why so few eggs?

    SO for the last several months, (including the winter) our hens consistently laid 25-35 eggs a week, this week they have only layed 7 any guesses as to why. They turned 1 yr old 2 weeks ago.

    Ours is the only one that hasn't started to molt though. The others are molting, yet still laying, strange.

    Our Hens have all been laying for atleast 2 months now except the Wyandotte. She is very anti social, and won't let humans anywhere near her, no pre-laying traits, nothing. What do you think? We have started to call her "Crockpot" for the last month.

    Too Funny!!! So I just checked on the ladies and they were all outside enjoying the sun, and when I got close to them the Australorp did the famous squat, so I opened the door to the coop and there in the laying box is a little brown egg . So now I have 2 layers.

    Well our 22 week old RedSex Link went 23 days straight, then took saturday off and now back at it for 2 more in a row. Our other 4 are 20 weeks today and still ZERO eggs.

    Kind of sounds like mine is like the rest, moody and likes to be left alone. This is fine,I was just surprised since the behavior description is calm, and easygoing. She is still the best looking bird in the bunch.

    Keep posting up your numbers. My Red Sex Link has layed now 22 days in a row. Still nothing from the 2 BR's, Black Australorp, or SL Wyandotte.

    Just curious how many days straight your hen has layed. 1 Hen? I know mine isn't a record, but I have a Red Sexlink that has layed 14 days in a row. How many days have yours gone?

    Here it is, our 18 week old Red Sex Link layed it last thursday,and has layed one everyday since. I hope the other 4 will be this productive when they start.
