Hello! I'm looking for 5 or 6 EE or Ameraucana hens in the north TX (Fort Worth) area. Prefer local pickup within the greater Fort Worth or Weatherford TX area.
Hi all - I'm looking for some EE hens (prefer hens but I'd consider pullets). I'm west of Fort Worth, TX near Weatherford. If anyone has any for sale, please let me know. I'd like 5 or 6 if possible. Thanks!
5 barnyard mix roosters. Hatched 3/19/2011 and hand raised. 3 easter egger cross, 1 polish cross, and 1 barred rock cross. Located in North Central Texas (west of Fort Worth).
HA! Everyone lays in the same next box. So, she is sitting on a few for ALL of my hens.
I hate to throw them out, but that's what I'll do. I already hatched 13 chicks, and DH says NO MORE until I sell this current set!

My chicks will be 4 weeks this weekend.....I have a few doing the "dance" - you know it....the chest bump, flapping wings dance......I'm thinking Roos? Please tell me they're just playing?!?

Sounds like you have a pretty good set up. By three weeks old they'll have a fair amount of feathers. And yes, as long as the coop isn't drafty, they'll be fine. They will move out of/under the heat lamps as needed. Best of luck!

That's a great idea! We're about 7 days in, so I don't have any eggs that are on track with that. Does she know exactly how long 21 days is or could i start some eggs in the 'bator now and sneak them under her later? Or should I just buy some day old chicks and sneak them under her?
Thank you!
I just went out and candled/removed a few of the "outliers".....they showed no development. I'm not sure that she's actually fully sitting on any.....but more like sitting in the middle of them all! Oh well. What do you do if a broody doesn't hatch ANY? Do you try to sneak a few...
