    I just put our chickens in the coop and noticed one of my roosters had small insects all over his face and some on his feathers. I immediately thought of blood lice. How do you treat it? This is my first experience with it.

    So 3 of my 8 hens are taking turns sitting in 2 nest boxes. They just sit there really puffed up and when i put my hand in the box they make a screeching sound. They never pick me and let me get the eggs from underneath them, thats why i don't really think they are broody. It's still weird...

    Her wings are a bit droopy, but i havent seen any weird droppings, no worms to be seen. We did have other turkey food a couple of days ago and we just gave them their normal food again.

    We can probably keep them seperated for a while. It's a shame they need to be kept in their coop because of a bird flu. Otherwise they would have more space so she can get away from them.

    You can treat her with that, but if it doesn't really help you can maybe just wait and see what happens? Maybe it is some type of intestinal lining (never had any experience with that so i don't really know). I hope the copper sulfate will help though, keep me updated!

    I treated them with a dewormer but the brand is not available in America. Can you bring her to a vet or is it closed? Maybe something wrong with her intestines (tumors?)

    Will do! Is it cold where you live? That could explain why they are not laying right now. Out of four laying chickens i maybe have one egg a day. And could the blobs be coccidosis or is it really jelly instead of liquid blood? Maybe a bacterial infection could also cause this.

    I watched them for a couple of more days just to be sure. There are no more worms in their poop and we still need to do a second round of deworming, so that's a pretty good sign! Great to hear that all is well with your chickens / other birds! 😁
