    Mice in chicken coop- help?

Removing the feed helps a lot. Make smaller size feeder that you can move easily inside your home at night. This worked for me. Also I make plaster of paris and cornmeal dough balls and toss them along walls where rats have left poop trails. Do not let your chickens get the dough balls...

    Frustrated with lack of eggs!

I know this is an old post but if you don't want squirrels around do not feed them! They will always come back for food. I have squirrels that I feed and have for a few years. Had to change my containers because they chew through plastic.

    Chicken move

UGH! went in to lock up the chickens and when I turned the light on a large mouse or rat ran across my foot! So I put two sticky traps in corners. Also made some plaster of paris and cornmeal dough balls. The dough balls worked to get rid of the rats from the old hen house. Also removed the...

    Chicken move

Chickens are fully transitioned. The big girls are able to come and go as they please but the two littles are still not wanting to leave the hen house. I'll keep checking on them but I'm sure they will figure out the new big world is great.

    Chicken move

I checked on them this morning and got their water and food in the new quarters. Roosting fine on a saw horse, need to lower the roost bar. Everyone was snuggling together except one who was on the wall edge close by. I'm sure they will be feeling better today.

    Chicken move

I have a new larger hen house and planned to move my hens in during the night. Tonight I opened the new house and put some grubs in a trail and they walked right in. The two baby's I had to catch and put in with them. The littles are almost 8 weeks old so it wasn't too hard. My concern is...

    Chickens in my town!

Welcome aboard! I don't know if this helps but I consider my chickens as pets. If it is okay to have a pet parrot why not a chicken or two? I am curious of that angle could help change the rules.

    Acromegaly (Gigantism)

I really have to clue on what to do but I would research it in humans and see if that gives any idea of what to expect or how to help your chick.

What do I do with broody momma and chicks

My hen accidentally killed her first chicken I think by squishing it but has two chicks that are 4 weeks old. I isolated her and chicks from the other two hens because I wasn't sure how things would go. It has gone very well and I allowed the momma a chicks to be in a secure run with the other...
