I used to let my cats roam because i know they won't hurt anything. Now we live near a road so I'm afraid of them getting ran over.
Are you sure it's after your chickens? Did you actually see it stalking them?
Ya but juveniles or adults might not be as tame as baby's I raise myself since I don't know how they were treated when they were little. Also I would miss out on their "ducklinghood". so if possible I would rather get baby's or eggs even if it might be a challenge to hatch or raise the little...
So I don't know if I should make a new post about this or not but I'm having a problem with introducing 2 month old rouens to my Swedish drake. The runner hens are fine with them but when I let out my Swedish he starts chasing the Rouen girl and tries to mount her. Should I just let him or...
Oh, i looked up how many ounces were in a cup and went by that (2oz=1/4cup). Either way, it worked!!! I noticed my crested Pekin was slowing down and acting like it was going to die but after giving them the water she's running around again! :)
I'm not for certain, It's just the way they died is so similar to the description of that disease. maybe they got it during shipping?
I've been giving them sugar water which seems to be helping
Another died this morning I kept it alive by blowing on its bill and rubbing its chest but it just got too weak.
I'm on the third day of having these. Yes I think this one has gained a little weight since I got him, he's eating and drinking well. I also emailed purely poultry.
If it's a...
so I ordered 6 call ducklings along with some others from purely poultry. The calls shipped a day after the others and when they arrived one was dead. A couple minutes after, another one passed away and another that afternoon. This afternoon I lost another and I only have two left. What's going...
So I have a blue Swedish drake whith 3 runner hens and a pair of rouens (male and female) about 1 1/2 months old, fully feathered. I have the rouens in a grow-out pen and am thinking of introducing them to the rest of the flock soon, but two of my hens are broody on some eggs and one is starting...
I opened the air cell of the two bruised ones. Both were dead, the membrane was dry and there was no movement. I looked at the pipped one, he wasn't moving in his shell either so I made the choice to open his air cell, He was dead too. And he was a light blue color too.:hit
It looks like it tried to pip, I don't hear any peeping or see any movement though. I put some vasiline on the exposed membrane so it doesn't get too dry.
As for this little one, he's doing great! You can definitely see the Swedish in him. :D
