Well after reading all the comments here i dont think i can really raise chickens or any other animal in my house really.
Oh well thanks everyone for the help.
Raising pigeons is quite common where i live but its a pain to train them as far as i know. Most fly away and those who dont have their wing feathers cut and then trained to stay.
I dont really want to do all that.
Edit: pigeon battles are quite common here too so another thing im worried about...
Are you suggesting to put a layer of moistured sand over all of the roof floor? That might not be possible.
Also do you mean bushes in flower pots?
And sedum is basically just moss right?
Correct me if im wrong.
Photos of the coop-
It looks quite small in the pictures but its okay size. I will remove the partition fence in between to make it even bigger.
The roof-
This photo is two years old.
I can probably clean up the area to make it bigger. The metal fenced up area is quite big and that acted as...
Hello everyone,
First i would like to apologise if this is posted in the wrong section, i didnt know where else to post it. If you have any suggestions as to where i should move it, please do tell.
Now onto the main topic. I raised about 8-10 chickens two years ago on my concrete roof. It didnt...
I have 4 hens, two of them are about 20 weeks and the remaining are about 16 weeks. The bigger ones stay together and the smaller ones stay together. The bigger ones peck the smaller ones whenever they see em. Its not like a small gentle peck its a violent aggresive one. The bigger ones stay...
I see, he is the calmest of the two though. Never pecked any human or hen aggressively. There is the usual standoff where they open their wings and hackles but other than that he's pretty calm.
They're both mixes of different breeds. One of em is a 100% gamefowl mixed with old english and one other breed. The other one could possible be a sexlink of an australorp? Im not sure.
I have 2 roosters and 4 hens. Is it possible to keep both of the roosters instead of rehoming one? Or will there be conflicts? I really don't wanna rehome either of the roosters to be honest. I really like both of them and it will be sad to see one of them go. Im asking this because I only have...
Oh alright then, his adult plumage is just about gone too and his tail sickles are coming in. Other roo is a bit younger and hasn't got his tail sickles yet. Both beautiful roos though
My rooster is about 20 weeks old. He hasn't crowed even once yet. I've seen other cockerels try to somewhat crow with their squeakish crows when they're young but my roo is 20 weeks old and he hasn't even tried yet. Same with my other roo, same age and still hasn't tried to crow yet. Is this...
Worst mistake of my life:
Fed them only cracked corn with a few kitchen scraps.
Consequences:
They were about 4 months old but they weren't growing fatter and they weren't looking how they were supposed to be.
How did I fix it?:
I feed them chicken feed now. Since it was a big change in their...
