Yes. It is the same one. We gave her some medicine and the bubbles were gone. Then this past week, her eye did this. We did see a tiny bit of her black eye in the corner toward the back of her head. It has a liquid drainage (like goey watery eyes). I have been trying to research conjunctiva, but...
We cleaned the outside eye lid off and opened it. We thought we would find puss and were planning on pushing it out, but we found this instead. Is it part of her eye? It looks to have veins. What do I do now? She did have bubbles before the eye was swollen, so we thought respiratory infection.
How is your hen? I have one with the same symptoms and same type of breed. I was reading another thread and her chicken ended up having egg peritonitis. She was someone trying for answer on someone else's thread. The original post had the same type of bird with the same symptoms. Sounds like it...
They're in a small, but decent size pen until I make sure they can go out. They have a pretty big size hutch that has 2 long vents (cutouts with welded wire over the holes). The top opens and they go through a door on the side. We do have other chickens. They can't go around them. If they do...
Here are some pictures. I'm having issues getting video. They're still spooky around me. It was also raining, so I couldn't post sooner. The poop looks more normal with only some water in it. I can tell they have been eating grass. It looks like a couple of then have watery eyes only on one...
Have not contacted yet, but plan to. I'll try to get some pictures and video tomorrow. They have a hutch they can go in and out of with wood chips in it. Then a small pen to keep them in until they can free range.
I didn't get a video or picture, but I was hanging out around them. It's the rooster that has the issues. He is still sneezing. I saw some clear snot drop from his beak. I picked him up and listened to him. He does sound a little rattled on breathing, but very little. No other symptoms. He was...
I have some 2 month olds that I just bought. One of them has been sneezing a lot and looks like a runny nose. It looks clear. He's the only one that has been sneezing, but a couple have runny noses. I did see him poop yesterday and it was clear liquid. I have had them for 1 week now. He is...
How would you quarantine new chickens if your current chickens free range all day, anywhere they want? We have a coop for them with no run. Let them out in the morning and pen up in coop at night. We love out in the country with wooded area on one side of us, non fenced yard, and fields on the...
I have a chick that hatched yesterday. It has problems with 1 leg only. It's like the leg doesn't want to bend and sticks out. It also falls over on it's back a lot or in it's side and just lays there. It's been breathing fast, not panting, just faster than others. The straight leg also twitches...
Last year, we had more roosters than hens. This year, had 3 hens sit (one is at it again) and they hatched out 10 chicks. Out of those, 7 are pullets while 3 were boys. Those boys came from my maran rooster while the girls are from my buttercup (from what I suspect with their looks). Funny how...
Thanks guys! That makes 5 out of 5 pullets from this last hatch! Yay! There's only 4 now since a bobcat has gotten one of them along with 5 other hens.
These 2 birds are 12 weeks old. Barnyard mix. Dad is either black maran or silcilian buttercup. Mom could be black or splash andalusion, silver or exchequer leghorn, then some other barnyard mix hens (not sure of their breeds).
I'm not sure. I have a hard time telling who's feathers are who's since most are the same color and they free range. His tail feathers are similar to our other rooster also. We only have 1 hen that does the dramatic molt, all others are gradually.
