Can a rooster's tail feathers change color?

I have a 1 year old black copper maran rooster. He's had black tail feathers ever since they came in. This past week or two, there is now white areas on one particular feather.

Did he molt recently? I have had a rooster molt and his feathers grow back a completely different color.

I'm not sure. I have a hard time telling who's feathers are who's since most are the same color and they free range. His tail feathers are similar to our other rooster also. We only have 1 hen that does the dramatic molt, all others are gradually.

I don't think it is possible for feathers to change color unless they grow that way.
