hi all I recently had a duck go missing. This is my first time raising ducks. I have 30 chickens and now only 1 duck. My question is. Do I need to separate a new duck from my flock of chickens and my 1 duck. Donald( yes Donald is a girl lol). I would like to get her a new friend as all she does...
I have 2 ducks. They have no problem climbing the ramp to go in at night and yes they put themselves in. Ducks themselves are not messy that I found. It’s all that water. Gets everywhere
They sure r cute. I’m glad you didn’t lose any when they escaped. My cats don’t go after the hens but they may go after the chicks. Unless their with a momma hen then the cats don’t touch them. So glad u wrapped the bottom.
All my chickens r my pets. I come from a large family and I have 4 sons all of them know how much I love my chickens and they are very sympathetic when I lose one. When I cry because I lost one my husband is right there consoling me. They call me the crazy chicken lady but it’s all in fun. Love...
If u can try to wrap the bottom of your cage with hardware cloth or even cardboard. Chicks can fit thru an opening that wide. I learned my lesson the hard way lol.
So back in May I ordered 4 chicks. 2 brahmas 1light 1 dark. and 2 Cochins 1 black and 1 partridge. Well one Cochin died and the light Brahma turned out to be a rooster. My question is which one is which.
Hi all I have decided to try my hands at ducks. My question is this. I got 6 duck eggs from my neighbor to put under my hen. The eggs are dirty. Do I keep them like that or do I clean them somehow.
my Mother in law just aske me this same question. I told her the same thing as Alexa009. I got mine in April and I live in NH. So I don’t expect to get any from my new chicks until next year. You may get one here and there before that but don’t expect it. It’s just a bonus if u do.
