Who says you can't out fox's a fox!!

Quote: OP, once a wild animal loses his fear of man made structures (and man, himself) he will continue to invade our space. That means where ever you took that fox he will seek out food closer to man and his domestic animals than he has before. He did it once, he will do it again. I...

    Anyone cook fox?

Hey all, the predator I have that seems to be the worst is a family of fox. DH shot one yesterday. Didn't kill it though. We followed the trail and found their two dens. I LOVE animals and wildlife but really would like DH to kill them since they kill my chickies. I also ascribe to the theory...

anybody raise sprouts to feed the chickens?

Hey thanks everyone for helping me out with the spelt thing. I did feed the spelt to the chickens the way it was... I figured if I feed them vinegar (basically water from fermented grain, etc) that I could feed them the spelt. I felt that it had not fermented to the point of being moldy or...

    What to plant for forage?

Last year I had planted spring wheat in a corner of my garden. The chickens love it. What they don't eat should re-seed itself? Anyway, when I had run out of feed at one point last summer I just let the chickens into the garden to eat away at the wheat. They had the time of their lives.

How to feed your chickens for FREE!

Over the summer I went to a local Mega Foods grocery store 3days a week. I got so much "waste" produce that it took me hours to pick through it all and ready it for chickens/compost, etc... My husband asked me to stop doing it because of how long it took me. I just asked him if I could start...

Anyone grow worms for your chickens?

Quote: I am not referring to any worms in particular. I know a guy who has worms that I could buy for the purpose of composting. I just thought it might be nice to consider them as a dual purpose. I will check out your page about the mealworms and find out if that is something the local guy...
