Hello all. I've nursed quite a few hens to health but this one has me stumped. My son noticed her comb was paling a little last week (which I didn't take notice to). A few days ago I noticed that she was puffed up and not roaming a lot with the others. If I remember correctly she was one of the...
That is hysterical. I used talk to text and it gave me sauerkraut- I'm dying 🤣🤣 I'm sure it's rife with errors. Anyway, thank you for the advice. I wasn't sure if the poops of the afflicted girls would be off after the SOUR CROP treatment, or if it's worms/ coccidiosis. I have ordered probiotics...
Okay, so I'm not sure, where else to post this. I treated two of my eight girls about a month ago for what? I'm confident with sauerkraut. Liquidy crops and they would just vomit. I brought them inside for 48 hours and did the protocol including monistat for 7 days. Mom about four days into...
I feel like I've read them all. I guess the fact that it doesn't smell yeasty and was brown liquid is throwing me off...and how am I to know if this is caused by worms? Does one usually prophylactically just treat their hens periodically ?
Hello all. A few months ago we lost a three-year old chicken to water belly. Now today we have found two girls with juicy crops that make gurgling noises when u gently massage it and they vomit (in fact one threw up all down the back of me when I gently flipped her over to inspect her vent)...
I checked her vent and didn't feel any egg inside but with nine chickens and five of them laying brown eggs...I can't really tell. I've never worked any of my hens. I feed them Kambalach (?) and free ranging often. I would think with diet others would also have issues??
Can anyone tell me what is going on with chicken? 3 yrs old RIR/Leghorn mix. A few weeks ago I noticed her butt was absolutely gross and she was walking like an old lady hen. I gave her a bath and cleaned her up, saw no sign of mites or worms or anything. Today I find her the same way again...
These r some pics I have on my phone. They have that space and a half acre to roam as well. We got one little laying for about a week now and she gets beat up the most....
They all free range for some time daily. It's the three big girls together and then two little girls together and the third little girl goes back and forth but never fully in with the big girls. Little ones seem scared. They've gotten used to them both in the coop and free ranging but generally...
We introduced three new twelve-week-old hens to our current flock of three one-year-old hens. It's been at least two months and they still don't get along. They share a run which is 10x10, during the day, but it's like two rival gangs. Old ladies over here and little ones over there. They've...
So this isn't exactly chicken related but I don't know where else to find this information. I was going to hard boil eggs today, and when the water was pretty hot the power went out. I put them immediately in the fridge but the power was out for four hours. Are they safe to boil?
That's a ten my ten run. Big girls get to free range under supervision. Big coop is the big girls and the little coop was where we were keeping the little girls. They r only locked up in there at night (referring to the big coop).
